The Ironman UK Triathlon 2008The demand from athletes wanting to compete in this prestigious event has been so high that not only were the direct entry places filled by mid January but now, today we regretfully had to consider withdrawal of the offer to those wanting to enter the Charity Team of GUARANTEED RACE SLOTS. ( But see below) Both the race organisers and ourselves recognise and wish to encourage the added contribution and effort made by those competing in Ironman UK who seek to help those less fortunate than most by additionally taking the opportunity to raise funds for Charity. To that end, the race organisers, Ironman UK intend tomorrow to allocate to Charity Team Entrants additional race slots by transferring 20 of the entry places that had been held for Pro athletes. Therefore we shall be able to offer additional slots but this cannot be guaranteed to all and any that become available will be offered on a first come basis. Anyone that enters via our site from today is likely to be given one of these places but when these are gone may be placed on a WAIT LIST with ROTARY and will be offered a Charity place if one becomes available. What we can Guarantee is that any Commitment Bond paid to us after the date above will be refunded in full if we are unable to offer race entry.
